Often, when life seems to victimize some, they turn their anger inward and force officers of the law to take their life. This topic thread will examine those situations, the causal events and strategies to spot the situations early.

SNIPER TERRORIZES IDAHO COURTHOUSE
MOSCOW, ID (May 20, 2007) - Late Saturday, May 19, around 23:00 hours, an unidentified gunman opened fire on the courthouse, apparently to draw people into his line of fire. A police officer and a civilian were wounded at the courthouse. A sheriff was also wounded when he came to give aid. Shots were coming from a high vantage point and it was quickly determined that it was coming from the church nearby.
The First Presbyterian Church was directly across the street from the courthouse. SWAT was called in and the final shot from inside the church was heard about 01:00 hours May 20, 2007. The unidentified gunman was found dead with another man. The police will not confirm whether the gunman committed suicide or if he was shot by SWAT. No motive is known for the violence, but it was obviously an ambush, but no specific person was targetted.

This case is a template for this type of crime. It is hoped that it will be an exemplar for similar crimes, despite the obvious desposibility of the information. It will be interesting to compare and contrast other crimes of this genre. |
